Be it train, bus or tramway – all means of transport with a
one-, two- or three-digit line number (including the Schloßbergbahn in Graz) is part of the Styrian Transport Association and can be used. The line number scheme gives you a point of reference.
Trains + Regional Buses
- the 2nd class of all trains in Styria can be with a ticket of the Transport Association. Rail lines are identified with an R and a three-digit line number (e.g. R500), suburban trains with an S and a one/two-digit line number (e.g. S5).
- Regional bus lines can be identified with a three-digit line number (e.g. 470). The first digit changes depending on the geographic location (e.g. 200 for the corridor to Weiz). Lines whose identifier ends with a 0 or 1 have Graz as their destination.
- Lines 100: from Graz to Bruck/Mur, Leoben (Mariazell, Mürzzuschlag)
- Lines 200: from Graz to Gleisdorf, Weiz, Birkfeld
- Lines 300: from Graz to Gleisdorf, Hartberg
- Lines 400: from Graz to Laßnitzhöhe, Feldbach, Fürstenfeld, Bad Gleichenberg
- Lines 500: from Graz to St. Stefan im Rosental, Mureck
- Lines 600: from Graz to Leibnitz, Spielfeld, Bad Radkersburg
- Lines 700: from Graz to Lieboch, Köflach, Stainz, Deutschlandsberg
- Lines 800: in the upper Murtal (from Leoben to Knittelfeld, Judenburg, Murau)
- Lines 900: in Ennstal (e.g. Schladming) and Ausseerland (around Bad Aussee)
Attention: In thinly populated regions, on-call buses are used more frequently. These are buses that travel the fixed routes but only operate if ordered by telephone in advance. Per person and trip, a call charge of € 0.70 is added to the standard rate (not for persons, however, who are transported free of charge).

Tramways + City Buses in Graz
- Eight tramway lines operate in the provincial capital of Graz. They constitute the backbone of public transport. Lines 1 to 7 all serve the city centre, lines 13 and 26 only operate in the evening and on weekends and substitute some of the main lines. Lines 3 and 6 serve the central railway station, in the evening lines 1 and 7 also serve the central railway station.
- In addition, more than 30 urban bus lines area available. Lines with the number 30 and 40 directly serve the city centre.
- Seven night bus lines operate during weekends.
- The Graz Airport is served by the regional bus lines 630/631 (starting at the central railway station or Jakominiplatz) or by the suburban train S5 (starting at the central railway station).

Getting to other cities/towns using the city’s public transport
City bus lines also operate in the cities of Leoben, Bruck/Kapfenberg and in Aichfeld. They have two-digit line numbers, only the lines in Leoben have letters.
